I got pretty excited when I got asked to photograph Sara and David’s wedding. I grew up in Aberdeen, SD and most of my family still lives there. And it so happened to be the same week as my Mothers birthday! Being a Colorado wedding photographer, I feel spoiled with the mountain views, downtown Denver, Colorado parks, etc. So, going back to the small town, prairie land of Aberdeen excited me a little. I’ve been friends with Sara for over 15 years, and after the first time talking with David and her, I could feel that spark between them. It wasn’t a shocking spark… But more of a deep playful crap talking zing of love. And to see David with their children, I can’t tell you how happy I am for them.
FUN FACT: They got married in the High School I went to. Well, it wasn’t a school anymore, but it did once have a long haired, shy, handsome man walking it’s locker hallways. Right when I walked in, the smell catapulted me back to the old days.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY: Wiping away tears from my eyes, so I can capture Sara dancing with the great men that stood in for her late Father. Was a very powerful moment to be apart of.
It was really neat to see so many familiar faces that I haven’t seen for years. To see this great small community of people celebrating this special day filled with many unforgettable moments was priceless for me.
