The Feldman Family

In the summer of 2020, I had the privilege of capturing Jesse and Nathan’s backyard wedding. Their wedding was booked pre-2020 and the original plans ended up needing to be adjusted. After changing venues, downsizing, and splitting their special day into two days, the greatest show of theirs lives still went on!

Now, 10 months later I got the opportunity to work with the Feldman family once again! Only this time there was an additional member. Although I didn’t get to meet her, she was hiking all over Mount Falcon Park with us. And yes.. I am talking about their almost nine-month old baby that’s currently living rent free in Jesse’s belly.

When Jesse first came to me and mentioned she wanted maternity photos I was hesitant. I’ve never participated in a maternity session before. After telling her that, she still insisted and reassured me that I was the photographer she wanted. Since we’ve already established a working relationship/friendship, I was honored to be asked to capture this life moment for Jesse and her family.

One thing I value most about my photography business is the relationships that come from it. Take, for example, my relationship with the Feldman’s. I first met Jesse while I was doing Headshots for the company she works for. From there, I met with Jesse and her fiancé Nathan and booked their wedding. In the wedding process alone, I feel it’s hard not to create a relationship with your clients. From the whole process of communication and trust before hand, to being apart of the intimacy of their wedding day, and the delivery process after. It’s one of the best shows on earth to witness and be apart of such great moments in peoples lives.

For me personally, this wasn’t just “another day at the office.” I was legitimately excited when I saw them pull up in the parking lot. The conversations while walking the trails, as the little ones chase each other freely off the trails. Seeing their eyes light up as they talk about bringing a new baby sister into the family. It’s funny because when I started my passion behind the lens, I loved visualizing the image in my mind, creating the different looks with lighting, and the post processing of the image.

I loved creating Art with my camera. I didn’t realize that it would evolve into so much more than a pretty picture.
